PROJECT: CDC BRFSS Studies

OUR CLIENT:  Multiple

Over the years, Precision Opinion has worked on numerous state level CDC BRFSS projects for several clients holding prime contracts. For that matter, we have conducted BRFSS survey research in nearly a quarter of US states. Working with multiple different clients that hold these contracts, Precision currently conducts well over 100,000 hours of state BRFSS work annually with its partners.

PROJECT: EIA (U.S. Energy Information Administration)

OUR CLIENT:  RTI International

For the past 5 years Precision has been proud to assist RTI International on the data collection for two important Federal surveys. The purpose of these surveys is to capture the weekly cost of a gallon of gasoline (regular, midgrade, and premium) and a gallon of on-highway diesel fuel, including all taxes as of Monday 8am, as published in the EIA’s Weekly Gasoline and Diesel fuel Update. Calls are placed to approximately 650 filling stations every Monday morning, to record the current price of gas at each station. Data is also collected from an additional 900 stations by fax, text message, email, public online data, and through a survey website. PROJECT: CDC’s National Immunization Survey (NIS)

OUR CLIENT:  NORC at the University of Chicago

Since 2008, Precision Opinion has had the privilege of being the primary data collection partner of NORC at the University of Chicago, on CDC’s National Immunization Survey or NIS. As the nation’s largest phone survey and the gold standard for data on U.S. immunization rates, the NIS reports data for all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam. PROJECT: Obama for America (OFA)

OUR CLIENT:  Benenson Strategy Group

When Precision Opinion opened for business, one of our first clients was a long-time “former” client, Joel Benenson and Carl Rossow from Benenson Strategy Group (BSG).  They picked up the Obama Campaign as a client early in the 2008 Presidential election cycle, and we were fortunate enough to be opening Precision Opinion at the time. We fielded the National polling data collection work with them through the election in 2008, and ultimately for the 8 years of the Obama Presidency (including the reelection campaign in 2012).

The impact of the business Joel and Carl brought to our company over this period of time, is almost immeasurable. Over those 9 years, we conducted more than 1,000 surveys with BSG. In year 8, we worked on our third straight Presidential Campaign, and together with BSG we conducted another 200 surveys in 2016. Over the years we worked with several other large consultant firms as clients, due to our reputation from the work we conducted with BSG. The truth is, Precision is here today in part due to the faith BSG had in our quality process, large-scale operations, and our ability to conduct the highly accurate polling they required to understand a campaign’s strengths and weaknesses. PROJECT: The RURAL Cohort Study

The RURAL (Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal) Cohort Study is a multi-institutional research project that aims to address critical gaps in the knowledge of heart and lung disorders in rural counties in the southeastern US, funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Utilizing a mobile research vehicle, the program will travel to rural counties in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Kentucky to research people’s health. Precision has made thousands of calls to RURAL households as a part of a comprehensive recruitment protocol to reach community members in these four states. We hope that the research findings will promote the health of rural communities.

Precision has been honored to partner on this important project since the Spring of 2022.
